
PacifiCorp’s Wattsmart Energy Saving Programs (AKA “Choices”)
How do you help consumers feel empowered about their electric bill? You build a strategic campaign that shifts the focus to the many ways customers can make smart, easy choices that will save them money and help them feel supported by the company supplying their power. That’s exactly what the PacifCorp Wattsmart® “Choices” campaign did. Through a shift in tone and writing and a move toward refreshed imagery that felt more human and relatable, PacifiCorp put the power in the consumers’ hands and backed it up with promises of full support and assistance across their 6-state service area in the Western U.S. They targeted residential, business and agricultural customers, informing them about incentives for energy efficient upgrades, useful tools for insights into energy use and special savings programs. Campaign efforts stretched across print, social and digital channels, driving customers to the Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power websites where detailed information and application forms for programs that covered heating, cooling, lighting, restaurant equipment, agricultural watering systems and more could be found.
